Hi, I’m Monica! I am a 34 year old mother of four children and one angel baby. I have a 13 year old daughter, 10 year old daughter, 5 year old son, and a 2 year old daughter. My angel baby (Celeste Alia) time was cut far too short in my opinion. She has been our guardian angel though since December 6, 2008.
So let me try and give you an abridged version of my life. I was born and raised in CT. I have one older brother.
When I was 15 I got into professional clowning and became the youngest member of COAI (Clowns of America International). From time to time I do still put on my clown costume. Mostly for volunteer, but also for birthday parties.
I attended college for two years in FL. While home after my 1st year of college I met my now husband. We dated long distance for a short time and I broke it off. When I came home after completing my 2nd year of college we decided to give it a go again and the rest is history.
We have been married for 12 years. I have been a Stay At Home Mom since my oldest daughter was two months old. I used to be the PTA president at my girls school, but when we moved I took a step back from my involvement. I have also been a Girl Scout leader.
And now I blog.
I have been blogging since 2008, but this blog wasn’t started until June of 2011. I wanted a place I could write about my beliefs as a mother while also doing some product reviews and giveaways. So that’s how Monica’s Mom Musings began.
I think I bring a unique perspective to things. I started out as a young mother being only 20 when my oldest was born. I have experienced many different things over the years. Speech therapy, reading difficulties, failure to thrive, acid reflux, DOC Band helmet, the loss of a baby at 20 weeks pregnant, and everything else that goes along with parenting.
My kids are my life and I would do anything for them, but I also hope to help people through my own experiences. What you see here is all straightforward and honest real life from a mom who’s living it. So pull up a chair and read about my take on parenting in the 21st century!
