Where Were You Wednesday: Week 65

Wow, it has been 2 weeks since I last posted a Where Were You Wednesday. I am really slacking. But new year, gotta get back into this. Before we get started with Where Were You Wednesday I wanted to share my New Years resolutions with you. Truth be told I don’t really do resolutions. There are some things I hope to accomplish over the next few weeks and even months. Like I want to revamp the chore system around here and hope to put that into effect in the coming weeks. I have a lot of business goals I would like to accomplish this year as well. In the next few days I need to reorganize my folders on my computer and get 2012′s pictures off my computer and saved. And beyond that I am going to be making more of an effort to use Instagram. My hope is to post at least one picture a day on Instagram. So I hope you’ll come follow me and help keep me accountable on that.

But now we need to do Where Were You Wednesday. So grab my button and read through the rules below to join in and then link up your Where Were You Wednesday post at the bottom.

Rules

Just a reminder of the rules:

  1. Only PG-rated photos. Nothing that would be inappropriate for children to see because I often have children around.
  2. If your folder doesn’t go as high as the number picture I choose, or you don’t have a folder number then go with the last photo in the folder or the last folder.
  3. If you don’t feel comfortable posting a photo because it has children in it who aren’t your own or something, then please feel free to go onto the next photo. I’d rather have you join than not and the whole point of this is to start conversations.
  4. Please check out the other blogs on the linky. We’re not going to be able to start fun conversations about why pictures were taken if we don’t look at each others pictures.
  5. The linky will remain open for a week so you can add your link anytime within that week.

Where Were You Wednesday: Week 64

First I have to apologize for my absence this week. Not trying to make excuses, but the weather has really been wreaking havoc on my week. Really hoping everyone is back to school on time for the rest of the week. Time to get on with Where Were You Wednesday though.

I hope you’ll join me. Grab my button, read through the rules, see what folder and picture we’re looking at this week, and link up your post at the bottom.

I’m still having a hard time believing that it’s December. It’s only 3 weeks until Christmas. Time is just flying by. Now is also a great time to start making and sharing memories and traditions. What better way to do that than with pictures?

Won’t you join me for Where Were You Wednesday? All you have to do is grab my button below, read through the rules, see what picture folder and picture number we’re looking at this week, blog your own picture about that, and link up at the bottom. Where Were You Wednesday: Week 62

Halfway through a short week. It’s kind of amazing how long it takes for Wednesday to get here when it’s the last day of a week before a break. But we made it to Wednesday and that means tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I get to sleep in late. Well, at least later than I normally do during the week. I do have to get up and start cooking, but I won’t have to be up at 5 a.m.

We’re back to the original way of doing things this week. I’ll pick an old folder and picture and you link up at the bottom in the same folder and picture number from your computer. Grab my button and read through the rules below.

Where Were You Wednesday: Week 61

Hello Wednesday! It’s time for another picture post. I’m going to do things a little different this week. Normally, I share a picture from an old folder I have saved on my computer. It’s usually from around a year ago at this time. This way we hopefully are getting a chance to look back at some old pictures and remember some things we were doing at a different time in our lives. However, this week I’m going to a much more recent folder on my computer. I’m going to a picture, or pictures rather, that I took yesterday.

If you recall I mentioned earlier this week that we should perform 26 acts of kindness in honor of the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook elementary school last December. Well, I’m doing it too and yesterday was day 1. I wasn’t sure what act of kindness I wanted to perform at first. It quickly dawned on me what I needed to do and who I needed to help out. And I’m trying to get my kids involved in this as well so I wanted this to be a group effort. They loved doing this so much that they want to know what we’re doing today. I’m still working on that one.

But anyways, you don’t have to do a recent picture this week if you don’t want to. You can just pick a picture at random. Or follow how I normally do it and go with the picture folder I’m in as well. But if you do join in please grab my button and read through the rules below and then link up your picture post at the bottom.

Where Were You Wednesday

This week we are in folder 22 picture number 83. Here’s where I was err yesterday…
26 Acts

For day one of 26 acts of kindness the kids and I wrote 26 things we love about our neighbor, put it in this box, and gave it to her. We told her it’s for whenever she’s feeling blue she can open it and know why we love her. She has really had a rough go of it lately and we know how sad she has been so it was nice to be able to give her some hope and a reason to keep going on even in the face of so much adversity. Not that I think she would do anything to purposely harm herself, but I knew she needs this pick me up and ego boost right now so it felt good to give this to her to remind her that she’s always loved by many around her every day even if she’s not hearing it, or we’re not around to tell her how great we think she is.

What will we do today? I don’t know yet, but it will involve the kids again. They are really getting into this.

Where were you in folder 22 picture 83, or just any random folder and picture you choose? Have you done any acts of kindness to participate in the 26 acts of kindness?

Where Were You Wednesday: Week 60

Phew, made it halfway through the week. I wasn’t sure I would. It has been a busy one. Oh who am I kidding, they’re all busy? This one just seemed to have a lot more running around though. So as usual I want to break up the week with a fun picture post. So come on, join in. Where Were You Wednesday

This week we’re in folder 11 picture number 17. Here’s where I was…

The spaghetti bridge I spent 6 hours helping my oldest daughter make last year for her Science class. All after her partner flaked out on her. A project she had worked on in school for several classes and was supposed to bring home to finish. Her partner had insisted on bringing it home and said they’d get together, but my daughter couldn’t reach her the whole weekend. That left it all to us. She got an A on it, her partner who had broke their original attempt did not get to piggy back off of my daughter’s work. And this bridge was the only one in the class that held any weight. Sadly it did not hold up to her little brother though. Now all that’s left of this spaghetti bridge is this picture.

Now it’s your turn. Where were you in folder 11 picture 17?

Where Were You Wednesday: Week 59

I’m on fire this week. A post every day. It hasn’t been easy and I imagine as the month goes on it will get harder, but at least I have these posts to break things up a bit.  So if you’re looking for something to continue posting daily then join me for Where Were You Wednesday.

It’s quite simple really. Grab my button below, read through the rules, see what picture folder and picture we’re in this week, and link up your own blog post with your picture at the bottom. It’s that easy. So lets get on with it.

The first snow of the year last year. My son had to make a snow angel. As much as I don’t want it to snow anytime soon, my son wants it to snow. Every day he asks for snow so he can make snow angels, a snow man, and go sledding. I’m not aware of snow in our forecast, but it has gotten cold so maybe his wish will come true soon.

Where Were You Wednesday: Week 58
