Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: Eat At Chili’s

We are coming to the end of September which also means the end of Childhood Cancer Awareness month.  So far this month I have told you what you can do to help, shared the stories of some of the kids with Cancer, and had my daughter share some of her insights with you and a remarkable girl who is living with two kinds of Cancer.  If you haven’t read them yet then I encourage you to do so.  You just might learn something new.

As we come to the end of this month you still have a chance to make a difference.  All day today (September 24, 2012) Chili’s is donating all of their proceeds to St. Jude’s to aide in childhood Cancer research.  So eat lunch or dinner or both out at Chili’s today and all of the profits from your check will go to St. Jude’s.  What a great way to support Childhood Cancer while also having something to eat.

But don’t stop there!  While you’re there color a pepper or two and add a donation with that pepper.  It can be as little as $1 or as much as you want.  My children always love coloring a pepper for our friend Kennedy who I wear my gold for this month.

And I have great news to share with you about Kennedy.  She has now been declared Cancer free.  Last week she went to Oncology and got the all clear.  She will however still have to go to Oncology, but now it’s just once a year.  And of course they will keep a close eye on many things to make sure the treatment didn’t cause any other problems.  But this is excellent news for her and her family and I’m so glad that I get to share such happy news with you all about this very special little girl.

So go, get yourself to a local Chili’s.  Invite some friends.  Make a party of it.  Celebrate Kennedy’s awesome news.  Have some drinks.  Have some laughs.  Color a pepper.  And say a little prayer for those who are still fighting the fight and those who have gotten their Angel wings.

Thank you all for reading my posts about Childhood Cancer this month.  I do hope you have found them to be informative and have been spreading the word about Childhood Cancer.  While there’s still another 6 days of the month this is the last Monday.  Please do share all the information you can about Childhood Cancer.  Knowledge is power.

Will you be eating at Chili’s today?
